Catesbys colourful cork lino
Catalogue of Catesby's cork lino

Publication

Catesby Ltd - London, publisher, 1938

This image is of a page from a fully illustrated trade catalogue showing the range of linoleum available from Catesby’s in London in the 1930s. The ‘Linola Squares’ pictured here were most commonly used in kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and sitting rooms because they were easy to keep clean. They were rectangular pieces of linoleum decorated to imitate rugs or parquet floors, and often had a bordered design. In this example, ‘Linola Squares’ are used to cover most of the floor in a living room.
