manufactured by WPM, 1956
This wallpaper was produced in about 1956 and sold in London by HC Cleaver Ltd for 8s (eight shillings) a roll.
The design features household objects such as jugs and cut fruit drawn in the stylised, spiky style typical of the 1950s. Bright, cheerful colours such as those used here were popular at this time, providing a contrast to the autumnal colours that were popular in the 1930s – 40s.
This particular sample was found in the loft of a house in Hove, East Sussex.
