WPM, 1927

This varnished sanitary wallpaper was produced in 1927. In the 1920s and 1930s, British consumers became increasingly concerned with good hygiene in the home. Sanitary wallpapers were a popular decorative choice for kitchens, bathrooms and other well-used areas of the house because they could be cleaned easily and were very hard wearing.
