The New House
Marketed as ‘The Magazine for Home Seekers’ The New House provides the reader with advice on where to find a perfect house, how to buy it and what to furnish it with. The copies held in MoDA’s collections offered the 1935 buyer information on how to apply for a mortgage, home purchases by endowment assurance and useful points of law for the householder. It would have showed the reader how to hang pictures, choose a gas cooker and find dual-purpose furniture.
MoDA holds two editions of the magazine from 1935.
