designed by Crofts, Herbert J,
Silver Studio, 1910
This is a design for a printed textile by Herbet J Crofts for the Silver Studio in 1910. The traditional design features a pattern of flowers and fruit in baskets, including grapes, pineapples and apples, and scroll work, in pink, lilac, green, gold and blue. Art Nouveau had become an out-of-date style in Britain by 1910, and traditional brocade patterns, all scrolls and flowers, became the popular middle-class furnishing style.
